Two separate bedrooms, two king-size beds, golden accents and a quiet garden view - The Golden One is 77 sqm of timeless elegance and your urban hideaway in Graz, made for up to six guests.
Step into The Golden One and you immediately feel it: everything is a shade warmer here. Golden accents on lamps and cushions break the calm palette, a generous sofa invites you to sink in, and the 50-inch smart TV turns a grey day into a cosy movie night. The couch pulls out to a third sleeping spot - perfect when you arrive as a group of six. The living room opens onto our quiet courtyard garden, so the view outside stays green and no street noise gets in. When sunlight pours through the tall period windows and catches the golden details, you understand why this apartment carries its name.
The Golden One is one of our 6-person apartments with two full bedrooms. Both rooms have a real king-size bed, premium linens from Denmark and their own 50-inch smart TV - in case one of you wants to sleep early while the other watches another episode. These are separate rooms accessed from the hallway, each with its own door, giving you real privacy when two couples travel together or when parents share with older kids. The bedrooms face the street side towards Steyrergasse, but the newly renovated double-glazed windows dampen the traffic noise very well, and black-out curtains keep summer mornings dark for deep nights.
We believe in apartments where you can actually cook. That's why The Golden One offers a real eat-in kitchen with cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge, kettle and a Nespresso machine. Plates, cutlery, pans, pots, cutting board and cooking utensils - all there. The dining table seats everyone with a comfy bench and four chairs, plenty of room for a full family breakfast or shared pasta after a long trade-fair day. The SPAR supermarket is about 100 m away, the nearest bakery (Martin Auer) roughly 6 minutes on foot, and the Kaiser-Josef farmers' market is a pleasant 13-minute walk or a short ride on tram 4 or 5.
The bathroom is bright, clean-cut and features a walk-in shower that hits the spot after a long day at the trade fair or a day trip to the southern Styrian wine roads. Instead of small single-use bottles you'll find RITUALS care in refillable dispensers with shampoo and shower gel. Hairdryer, fresh towels and a well-lit mirror are standard. When you're six in here, there's enough room to get organised in the morning - and because the rooms are separately accessible and can be closed off, everyone keeps their privacy when somebody else is already busy in the kitchen.
Open the balcony door and you look straight out onto our courtyard garden - a calm green island in the middle of Graz, turned away from the traffic on Steyrergasse. There's a football goal, a table-tennis table, go-karts for kids, a sandpit and comfortable garden furniture. In summer, this is the spot for the first espresso of the morning or a relaxed dinner outdoors. In winter you sit inside with a warm cup and watch the goings-on in the courtyard. It's exactly this mix of central location and quiet courtyard that brings guests back.
The size and layout make The Golden One an all-rounder. Families love the two separate bedrooms and the in-house access to the playroom (air hockey, darts) and garden. Business travellers heading to Messe Graz appreciate that they can arrive with two or three colleagues without sharing a hotel room - everyone gets their own bed and their own TV. For longer stays, the laundry room in the basement is ready to go, and the eat-in kitchen takes the edge off the home-cooking craving after the third night. A complimentary welcome package with drinks and regional products awaits you on arrival.
We are east of the river Mur, and trams 4 and 5 stop at the Steyrergasse station almost outside the door, about 100 m away. Tram 4 takes you directly to Graz Central Station in around 15 minutes; the UNESCO old town with Hauptplatz square is roughly 15 minutes on foot, the Schlossberg and Clock Tower about 25 to 30 minutes on foot. Messe Graz is only around 0.5 km, about 8 minutes' walk along the same street, and Graz Airport is 7.6 km away, reachable by public transport in around 30 minutes. You stay close to the centre and yet quiet - a setup you rarely get this clean in Graz.
